Like many on this site, and in society at large, I am growing increasingly alarmed at the power grabs by this White House. As I'm also in the military, I am disappointed in seeing this while in another country. I do, however, have a course of action.

Follow the teachings that Jesus taught us, "pray for those who persecute you." I will respond peacefully and with the voting lever. I will notify my Congressman to see how he stands on the issue as well. Not to mention that there should be some attorney out there who should be looking at a Constitutional challenge on this under the separation of powers. Congress didn't pass this, so it can't be as law.

Just my two cents. God Bless you all.

WE CATHOLICS MUST TAKE A STAND ON OUR VALUES THAT HAVE STOOD THE TEST OF TIME. WHAT IS TRANSPIRING TODAY IN OUR WORLD IS UNBELIEVABLE. OUR COUNTRY IS IN CRISIS, OUR VERY FREEDOM AND RIGHTS ARE BEING WHITTLED DOWN AND TAKEN AWAY, OUR RELIGION IS BEING BLATANTLY ATTACKED, AND FAMILIES AS A UNIT ARE BEING THREATENED. WE MUST LOOK AROUND AND SEE WHO WE CAN TRUST AND TRUST THOSE WHO ARE TRUSTWORTHY. THE 2012 ELECTION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY. I AM FRIGHTENED BY WHAT I SEE TODAY; I PRAY WE ALL DO OUR PART AND VOTE OUR CONSCIENCE AND OUR HEART. OUR COUNTRY BEGAN WITH PRAYER, ENDURED WITH PRAYER, AND I PRAY GOD WILL ANSWER OUR PRAYERS NOW.

Point #4 has already proven prophetic. The leftist talking point derived from White House polling and disseminated to its media surrogates suggests that Catholic rights of conscience can and should be abridged because "98 percent of Catholic women of childbearing years admit to having used birth control." Notwithstanding the government's unwarranted conflation of perceived "goods" and enumerated Constitutional rights--our government has no business distributing birth control to anyone--the argument from the poll is a non sequitur fallacy: The 1st Amendment rights of Catholics are no more contingent upon its adherents' practices than Jewish religious rights depend upon how many of them keep kosher kitchens. Yet we've heard this argument ad nauseum, and the only thing it demonstrates is that sinning, dissenting Catholics do indeed bring scandal upon their Church, providing ammunition to those who would try in vain (Matthew 16:18) to destroy her.

The failure of the Church hierachy and most parish priests , in their pursuit of social justice goals, to clearly and loudly identify anti-catholic and anti-religious policies being promoted and promulgated by so called catholic politicians in lock-step with other " Progressive " politicians is, by default, enabling attacks on religious freedom and the resulting downward spiral towards an secular society. The Church's pronouncements are, frequently, so ambigious as to become irrelevant. Too many catholic religious openly display their support for these "Progressive" politicians.

The Catholic Church in the USCCB should use their Respect Life committees to help promote the teachings of the Catholic Church on the 5 non negotiables:
ABORTION - the number one and most important, because it takes a life
euthanasia
embryonic stem cell research
marriage is between one man and one woman
capital punishment
It is sad to say that mose parishes in a diocese do not even have an active respect life committee. I encourage any of you who are practicing Catholics to either join your parishes respect life committee or if you have none, then start one! Think of how you can promote the culture of life and the TRUTH of the Catholic Church teachings. We are able to have voter registration drives, pass out voter guides put out by our state's Catholic Conference of Bishops, organize trips to the March for Life, help local pregnancy care centers, help at nursing homes, pray at planned parenthood's abortion mills, send petitions to local legislators and most importantly PRAY for all who feel that abortion is their only hope. PRAY that more babies are placed for adoption in loving homes of the many couples who face infertility with no hope for a biological child. PRAY for post abortive women and men.PRAY for adult stem cell research not embryonic, PRAY for an end to euthansia, for suffering to be eased. PRAY for the sanctity of marriage as God planned. PRAY for an end to the death penalty.

Finally, pray for our priests, bishops, deacons, archbishops, cardinals, Pope and lay people to teach the true teachings of the Catholic church.
