Join the Pope this Sunday
Pope Francis has made an historic announcement.
On Sunday, June 2—the Feast of Corpus Christi—at 5:00 PM Rome time, the Pope will lead an hour of simultaneous Eucharistic Adoration. Millions of Catholics throughout the world—from the Vatican, to the Pacific Islands, and throughout the Americas—will join him for this solemn hour, regardless of the time. It’ll be two in the morning some places. Here in Washington, DC, it’ll be 11:00 AM.
Archbishop Rino Fisichella, who leads the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, says:
|“I am proud to say that this is a historical moment for the history of the Church because for one hour all the churches in the world will be united. … We are united because the Eucharist makes us all one body and one spirit, so we enter into the deepest meaning of the Eucharist.”|
This particular Holy Hour will be dedicated to two intentions: the Church throughout the world and people throughout the world who are suffering.
We hope you’ll set time aside this Sunday to join in prayer with Pope Francis and your brothers and sisters of faith.
