President Obama’s Same-Sex Marriage Advocacy Against Teachings of Catholic Church

Catholic Advocate President Matt Smith issued the following statement in response to President Obama “affirming” he believes same-sex marriage should be legal during an interview with ABC News today:

“Once again, the President is spending time advancing an anti-Catholic agenda. Marriage was created long before any government came into existence. It is a settled issue in the eyes of the Catholic Church and should not be redefined.

“First, the Obama administration takes away grant money helping victims of sex-trafficking over the Church refusing to refer the victims for abortions. Then the Obama administration violates our religious liberties by forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception, abortifacients, and sterilization as the President’s health care law is being implemented. And now, should his advocacy for same-sex marriage succeed, Catholic institutions could be forced once again to violate our beliefs.

“Many faithful Catholics were fooled by clever political rhetoric in 2008. This year, the anti-Catholic record of the Obama administration should inform their vote.”

  1. If Catholics vote for Obama with all this in the news about his stands contrary to Catholic teaching and Catholic practice, they engage in a willful act of rebellion. It would be a sin, perhaps a mortal sin, depending on their level of knowledge.

First it was abortion…it was made legal and we had to accept it. Sure as an adult, you understand the ramifications of your actions. But as a young teenager who finds herself pregnant and the only way out of this problem in her head is to abort…plus, it can’t be wrong..afterall, it is legal. If something is legal, it is ok, right? WRONG!!! We have to stand up and be the voice that cries out in the wilderness, “Repent!!!” God made man and woman in His likeness. Every part of me says this is wrong. But what do I tell me 8 year old now when he asks, “mommy, why is that man kissing that other man? Is being gay bad or wrong?” If we give in and say it is ok to allow same sex marriage, we are saying it is right. The Bible is very clear. We need instruction from our Pastors on how to deal with this issue

Mr. Obama has taken his politics to a new level in his support of same sex marriage. When millions of children in this country are homeless and in need of food, shelter and love, he is making political statements about same sex marriage….our problems are real and in many cases seem almost insurmountable – He professes to be a Christian (regardless of his denomination) but I see NO evidence of this.
