There should be no doubt in faithful Catholics’ minds that President Obama is pro-abortion. Just read the statement he issued on Sanctity of Life Sunday – January 22, 2012:

“As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters.  I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right.  While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption.  And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

Based on the Obama Administration’s policy positions here is a translation key to the some of the statements above:

Statement:

“I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right.”

Translation:

I DO NOT think that Roe v. Wade should be overturned and is the law of the land.

Statement:

“we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies”

Translation:

My Secretary of Health and Human Services is taking care of this with our rule forcing health care plans to offer sterilization, abortifacients, and contraception.

Statement:

“reduce the need for abortion”

Translation:

See previous comment about sterilization, abortifacients, and contraception and I never said I did not want abortion to be available. In fact, I was willing to shut down the government to ensure your tax dollars pay for abortion.

  1. Bill Jacobs says:

How is the taking of an innocent human life limited to a “private family matter?” Think about it. What if we apply Obama’s moral standard to human beings at all stages of life? Would any one of us consent to our own killing prior to our birth? The primary purpose of government, Mr. Obama, is to secure our natural rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

  2. Mary Kubacki says:

Mr. President, you said “that government should not intrude on private family matters.” A person’s conscience is the most private of matters and government should not intrude.

  3. Sambuca says:

Obama has betrayed all Catholics. He will loose !
