March for Life Welcomes Catholic Students to DC
This story from LifeSiteNews.com warmed my heart. Isn’t it great to know that so many authentically Catholic colleges and universities have encouraged and made it possible for their students to attend the March for Life on Friday in DC? And isn’t it also great to know that so many young Catholics want to be in DC this week to show their support for the sanctity of life? These young people are our future, and they’re already crusaders for the pro-life cause. God bless them!
MANASSAS, Virginia, January 20, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com – This Friday, January 22, many students from Catholic colleges and universities recommended to families in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College will participate in the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.
“Colleges in The Newman Guide are recommended for their commitment to a strong Catholic identity, so it is no surprise that many of them have delegations coming to the March for Life,” said Patrick J. Reilly, President of The Cardinal Newman Society.
“These faithfully Catholic institutions are genuinely dedicated to building up the Culture of Life and are beacons of hope for Catholic families and students.”
The March for Life takes place every January to commemorate the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in the United States of America. Recent years have seen attendance surpassing 200,000, including many college students.
